main features:
WackyB Status Alert give you total control over the status alerts of your Yahoo messenger friends list. Configure individual sounds not only for each friend but also for each action (Online/Offline/Status Change/New message). Choose from a library of supplied sounds or select your own (Any sound type WAV/MP3/AVI/MOV/MPG/etc.. infact just about any file that contains sound even if it's a video file!). Have the status changes of your friends read aloud to you by Peedy (MS Agent Character), Peedy will let you know when your friends come online and leave as well as message status changes. Last friends status change is shown in the main window along with their chosen image/avatar. A log is also kept so you can see if a friend has been online that you missed. Instantly mute all sounds from the main plugin window, Setup sound mute when you are busy/Idle etc.. So many options to choose from. This is a beta release of WackyB Status alert plugin, it is made available here for you to test and preview before it is made available to a more general audience (Pending the approval process it will be available from the Yahoo Gallery Messenger Plug-ins section UPDATE: V1 is now approved and available from the Yahoo Gallery [here...] You can still download the latest beta v2 from this page.). Because it is not a standard plugin it requires some additional steps to install and use. (Note: you can only run one pre-release test plugin at any one time, installing will remove any previous test plugin you may have installed)
- Download and install the Setup file located at the top and bottom of this page (or click [here...])
- Once installed you can load and use the plugin from the messenger Actions menu:
- Click 'OK' at the prompt to continue
If you notice any delay in loading or any other message boxes pop up, follow the instructions below ensuring you install all files listed. If you want to have custom sounds for each user action but do not want any speech functions, you can disable peedy (you will not need to download and install any of the files listed below if you do so):
From the settings window click the 'mute settings' tab, Untick the box for loading Peedy. If at a later stage you wish to have speech announcements you can simply go back and tick the box :)

Microsoft Agent character:
WackyB-Status Alert uses the character Peedy get him [here...] (you will need to get this if you see the 'Microsoft Agent Warning' message each time you load the plugin)
Text-to-speech engines:
Can you see Peedy but can't hear him speak? Try getting the Text-to-speech engines [here...]
SAPI 4.0 runtime support:
Install the SAPI 4.0 runtime support below if you are using the Windows XP operating system and intend to use any of the speech components here with Microsoft Agent. (so get this [here...] )
Microsoft Agent:
Download and install the core components of Microsoft Agent by clicking the link below. Note, you do not need to install these core components if you are using one of the Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows Me operating systems. The Microsoft Agent core components are already installed on your computer. If you think you may need this then get it [here...]
